Our primary purpose is to create greater awareness of diabetes and obesity and to encourage each of us to compete against ourselves and participate in some fashion in our annual July 4th Goderich scenic route (registration Saturday 7:30 am) for our 8 km (5 mile) run/walk or jog loop taking in the lakefront. Maps will be available Saturday morning. 100% of all pledges and donations go to "Local area kids with Diabetes" (no tax receipts) and/or "Robarts Diabetes Research" (tax receipts).

Ayden Byle, a young diabetic Canadian from Tiverton and Toronto is our unsung, grassroots hero that with his team CDN! initially raised over $100,000 for Robarts Research for diabetes in London, Ontario in his 1998 run across Canada. Ryerson University in Canada and Rensselaer (RPI) University in the USA created a public service TV commercial as part of the BCM (business cause marketing) ongoing volunteer efforts. Two years ago, our Team CDN! decided to raise money as well for "Local area kids with diabetes" in Huron & Bruce counties and to date our combined total pledges/donations have reached $114,00 with an army of caring volunteers pitching and helping out to make this annual fun "Dash for Diabetes" (D4D) a continuing success.
